Hitting the Ground Running in Week 1
The Sooners may play on Friday night but that won’t stop us from getting out and seeing some of the best games for Oklahoma fans to know about this weekend. In week one in Texas we’re going to see two, and maybe even a third game, from North Houston to the Dallas metroplex.
Houston Lamar @ Atascocita
Primary Focus: Tory Blaylock – Oklahoma Commit
Breakdown: For as long as the Sooners have been involved with their lone 2025 running back commitment, it’s our first chance to see him in a game since he was a freshman. It was known then that he was going to be a good one but after a camp setting, and a few other workouts, we’re anxious to get a look at Blaylock in the Eagles offense. He’s an explosive back but we’re anxious to have a look at the Sooners pledge as a receiver – there’s some real evidence he can be very impactful in the passing game.

Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview @ Melissa, Texas
Primary Focus: Owen Hollenbeck – Oklahoma Commit, Omarion Robinson – Oklahoma Commit
Breakdown: One of the really intriguing early season matchups as Parkview is coming back from a state title in Arkansas to take on yet another really strong Melissa squad. Hollenbeck we’ve seen several times but Robinson is one of the few commitments we’ve not had a chance to se in person so we’re excited to get a long look. Could this be the start of a campaign for Robinson to climb the On3 rankings? We’ll get it on film and see.
