How Kyler Murray’s dad helped prepare Michael Hawkins Jr. for his opportunity at Oklahoma

Throughout this past summer and the last five years, as Michael Hawkins Jr. began warming up for his training session at the Air 14 Football Academy in Dallas, Kyler Murray would be finishing his.  Hawkins, who was named OU’s starting quarterback as a true freshman this week, and Murray, who won the Heisman Trophy at Oklahoma in 2018, have the same quarterback coach — Murray’s dad. Kevin Murray has been training Hawkins since the eighth grade.
