OU fans are solidly looking toward the 2025 season, but Team 130 has one more game coming up. The Sooners are bowl eligible for the 26th straight season.

A lot of different choices being thrown out there. Here is a look at some of the projections being thrown around Sunday.

OU Bowl Projections

ESPN: Oklahoma vs. North Carolina State (Bonagura) – Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl (Dec. 20, Tampa)

ESPN: Oklahoma vs. TCU (Schlabach) – AutoZone Liberty Bowl (Dec. 27, Memphis)

Athlon Sports: Oklahoma vs. TCU – AutoZone Liberty Bowl (Dec. 27, Memphis)

CBS: Oklahoma vs. Jacksonville State (Palm) – Frisco Bowl (Dec. 17, Frisco, Texas)

The Sporting News: Oklahoma vs. North Carolina (Bender) – Birmingham Bowl (Dec. 27, Birmingham, Ala.)

We shall see if how the playoff race is decided affects what happens to OU. If the SEC gets more teams in, does it help OU? Matter at all? Find out soon enough.

Venables’ state of OU

Head coach Brent Venables is ready to do whatever is necessary to get OU back on track in 2025 and beyond. His message after the loss to LSU.

“I do know, without question, there are a bunch of guys on both sides of the ball that made improvement here this back-half of the season. We’ve talked about that a lot. So to continue to do those things. We’ll be practicing for the next several weeks with the idea that we’re going to improve the football team fundamentally through hard work and going right back to work.  Doing all the things we have to do to improve, a daily focus to get better.

“Foundationally, a lot to be disappointed about. Disappointed about being 6-5 (6-6), that’s far below our standards. We have a lot of work to do. And I gotta – once we get some of these big decisions and moments on our schedule out of the way – go back and take a look at every area of our program where we need to be better. There will be nothing we won’t look at and evaluate that we need to be better than what we were this year.”
