It's a senior theme for OU captains against Alabama

It’s the final OU home game for a lot of seniors Saturday night. Predictably, those are the guys that are ready to leave it all out there.
And that means being a captain. Linebacker Danny Stutsman, safety Billy Bowman, defensive back Woodi Washington, defensive end Ethan Downs, center Troy Everett and quarterback Jackson Arnold will be the six against Alabama.
“I know it’s sad,” said Stutsman last week about final home game. “It really goes by fast. Every senior’s gonna say that. It’s cliche, but it’s so true. It’s gonna be a little, it’s painful coming back here for the last time.
“I’ve had so many great experiences, the highest of the highest, the lowest of the lowest. But I think I have no regrets with how my career has gone. Every time I step on that field, I leave it all out there. And so just gonna take advantage of the opportunity and just take it all in one more time.”
Stutsman and Bowman were two of the bigger names to decide against entering the NFL Draft last year and instead, becoming the leaders for this OU team. Being the leaders that Brent Venables needed to have among the players.

“It means a lot, especially because he came back,” said safety Peyton Bowen about Bowman returning. “He was hoping for a lot, too. We both help each other out in that sense. He came back going into the SEC with high hopes. Same thing, but I was going to be here regardless.
“Keep it together as a safety group, as a team. He’s holding everybody up, just making sure we know that he wants another game as a senior. The same with Danny and all them. They want to play a bowl game, for that opportunity to play one more game as a Sooner.”
OU looks to earn win No. 6 and become bowl eligible. The Sooners and Crimson Tide meet at 6:30 p.m. on ABC.
