OU has been busy this spring in the transfer portal.

The Sooners have added three players and are looking to add a few more at key positions. Oklahoma has lost a handful of players, too, including Davon Mitchell, Sam Franklin and Josh Aisosa, among others.

Below is a recap of who OU has targeted in the portal and where it might look next.

Players signed

  • RB Jaydn Ott, Cal: The star running back from Cal signed with the Sooners on April 15 despite never visiting Norman. Ott is the biggest get for OU in the portal so far, totaling 3,333 yards and 30 touchdowns from scrimmage the last three years.
  • OL Jake Maikkula, Stanford: Maikkula visited OU on April 4 and signed with the Sooners on April 15. A two-year starter at Stanford, Maikkula figures to compete for a starting job on the interior offensive line in the fall, specifically at center.
  • DT Ricky Lolohea, Utah State: Lolohea visited on Monday, April 21, and committed the next day. At 6-foot-3, 330 pounds, Lolohea adds depth to an already talented defensive tackle room. While he might not play much in 2025, he could be a player who develops into a role with three years of eligibility remaining.

Previous visitors

  • K Mason Shipley, Texas State: Shipley visited Oklahoma on April 17, but signed with Texas the next day. The Sooners are still looking to add a kicker this spring. Shipley was considered the best kicker in the portal at the time of his visit.
  • TE Lance Mason, Missouri State: Mason visited the Sooners on Monday, April 21, and has yet to make a decision. He’s also visiting Wisconsin this week and possibly Purdue at the end of the week. Oklahoma is hoping to land Mason, as he totaled 34 receptions for 540 yards and six touchdowns last year.

Future visitors

  • WR Jer’Michael Carter, McNeese: Carter was offered by OU on Tuesday, April 22, and is expected to visit the Sooners this coming weekend, possibly on Friday, April 25. Carter is also planning visits to Utah and Baylor. Last year at McNeese, he totaled 37 receptions for 537 yards and three touchdowns. At 6-foot-4, 192 pounds, he fits what OU is looking for at receiver in the portal.
