No way OU senior Jalon Moore would miss final home game

OU senior forward Jalon Moore knew two things Saturday afternoon. One, his knee just didn’t feel right and had to miss the majority of the second half.
Two, there was no way, absolutely no way he would miss Senior Night vs. Missouri.
Moore had to sit and watch as OU tried to pull off the road upset at Ole Miss, falling just short 87-84. But that second point? It still stands.
Wednesday night, family in town, Moore is not going down without a fight.
“I think Jalon’s gonna say he’s OK no matter what,” head coach Porter Moser said. “I don’t think he’d missed a practice until yesterday. It’s the last home game. The loyalty for him and this program, knowing there’s a path for us. I don’t know what the scenario would’ve been but I don’t think there’s a chance he was gonna say anything different to you.
“Today we’re gonna have a workout and see how he does. But I love it. Trust me. You’d rather have a player be like that. Like, ‘I’m gonna play.’ Rather than, ‘I don’t know. My toe hurts.’ If Jalon Moore is hurt, he’s gonna be really hurt and not be able to play. That’s just who he is. I don’t think he had missed a practice in two years until yesterday.”
Moore was injured early in the first half on a dunk attempt. He said he had a bad landing and couldn’t get any lift the rest of the game. He scored two points. Gave it a go to begin the second half before deciding he wasn’t helping the team being in there.
The Sooners, obviously, need every single person available for the stretch ahead. OU is on the bubble once again. Either Last Four In or First Four Out, and you’re not wrong no matter which way you decide about things.

Two games this week and two more Quad 1 opportunities for OU. Can’t lament about losing two games by a combined four points last week to Kentucky and Ole Miss, gotta keep fighting.
Moore is. The team has been. They’re ready for another battle against the Tigers. Mizzou throttled OU last month, 82-58, in a game that wasn’t even that competitive.
Moore is doing what’s necessary the early part of this week. Because he’s ready to leave it all out there one more time in front of the OU crowd.
“I knew I was gonna play regardless,” Moore told SoonerScoop. “It’s senior night, last home game here. So whatever I was gonna have to do to play, I knew in my mind I was gonna play the next game, so it was never that I was ever going to sit out. So Sunday and Monday was kinda just getting my body right and ready to play.”
