On3 top-50 recruit Rakease Passmore visiting Sooners
Sooners basketball coach Porter Moser has shown his ability to recruit high school prospect at a very high level. He’s not slowing down.
Moser and company are bringing in another top-50 prospect to Oklahoma this weekend. Palatka (Fla.) Combine Academy small forward Rakease Passmore will take an official visit, sources confirmed to SoonerScoop on Wednesday afternoon.
Passmore is ranked No. 49 in the industry composite for the 2024 class. With On3, Passmore is even better at No. 43 overall.
“When Rakease Passmore gets out in transition, fire your phone up, he is likely to have his head up around rim level on the finish,” said On3’s Jamie Shaw last month. “Passmore has a lot of straight-line lift, and he likes to show that off when he gets on the break.
“This summer, with Team Thad on Nike’s EYBL Circuit, he was able to show an expanded game and that he is more than just a dunker. Passmore averaged almost 14 points on just over nine shots per game.”
Passmore has been super busy on the recruiting trail. He had already taken official visits to Oregon and Indiana, and his schedule has gone nuts in recent weeks.

Colorado star heavy Heisman favorite
He has made trips to Wake Forest and Mississippi State. LSU is on-deck following the OU trip, and Arkansas is a major player as well.
The Sooners already have two commits for the 2024 class in three-star Dayton Forsythe and top-100 recruit Kuol Atak.
OU’s success in the transfer portal can be debated, but there’s no questioning what Moser has been able to do with elite high school recruits.
The Sooners have their work cut out for them with Passmore. The good news? It doesn’t look like there’s a clear-cut favorite. Four schools have at least a 10 percent chance, according to On3’s recruiting prediction machine. Wake Forest leads the way at 21 percent.
