Everybody knows SMU is going to present a much bigger challenge to OU than Arkansas State last week. The only question is how much bigger for Brent Venables and company?

Is this a game where OU is struggling to find answers in the fourth quarter and needing to find some? Or a game where the Sooners cement things early and allow fans to be a little bullish going forward?

One last SoonerScoop look

Let OU center Andrew Raym answer all those questions.

“The big focus is details,” Raym said. “But you know what I saw? I saw an O-line where we were finishing. They were trying to get after people’s butts. And, you know, we have a group of guys that really just wants to dominate people this year. We just got to keep working on the small things and details and it’s gonna take us a long way.

“Mindset. All the way. Once again, this team wants to dominate people. We’re not just trying to win this year. We’re trying to dominate.”

There’s a trickledown effect to that. It’s not just the offensive line. It’s the wide receivers putting in the work to make good plays into great one and nice gains into touchdowns.

“Oh, yea. We watch film and we see our receivers doing that stuff and we love it,” Raym said. “That’s something we’ve been needing for a couple years now. And our guys…like I said, we have an offensive that wants to dominate people this year. We’re getting our hands on people and our feet and we’re trying to mash people.”

And he’s healthy.

“Oh, it feels so amazing,” Raym said. “I’ve got two shoulders working. Two ankles that work. It’s great. Feels so fluid, so loose out there.”
