Oswin Erhunmwunse enjoys OU experience
It continues to be perfect timing for OU basketball during these initial weeks of the season. The Sooners are playing some excellent ball and now Porter Moser is trying to make a dent on the recruiting trail.
Putnam (Conn.) Science Academy center Oswin Erhunmwunse was in town this week to watch Oklahoma take care of Providence. OU moved to 8-0 in a 72-51 victory Tuesday in Norman.
“I loved the visit,” Erhunmwunse said. “Me and Coach Porter have a good relationship in and outside of basketball. I also loved the fact that they play hard and willing to be better every second they step on the court.”
Erhunmwunse is No. 21 in the On3 rankings for 2025 and No. 24 overall in the industry composite rankings. Coincidentally, Providence is leading the Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at the moment at 29 percent. OU is fourth at 18 percent.
That lets you know there is no clear-cut favorite, with Creighton and Georgia Tech both heavily involved as well for the 6-foot-9, 210-pound prospect.
OU has been one of the national surprises in the initial month of the season. The Sooners are one of only 13 undefeated teams remaining, ranked No. 19 in the AP poll and No. 14 in the all-important NET Rankings. The NET is updated daily.

The culture that Moser has been trying to build? Sounds like it’s getting there.
“They made me feel like I was part of them even before I join them,” Erhunmwunse said. “I really loved the visit.”
Reclassification?
But could he actually turn into a 2024 prospect? It’s not nearly as uncommon for basketball recruits to re-classify. And Erhunmwunse is someone to watch in that regard, says On3’s Jamie Shaw.
“Oswin Erhunmwunse has been out for a few weeks with a shoulder injury,” said Shaw earlier this week. “He had a big summer playing 17u with the BABC program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. Erhunmwunse has taken four official visits to this point, Providence, Georgia Tech, Creighton, and Oklahoma. Word started to get around this summer about a possible reclassification.”
OU does not have a commitment for the 2025 class. The Sooners signed two during the early period for 2024 in guard Dayton Forsythe and forward Kuol Atak.
