OU-Alabama under the lights in Norman
OU is going to need to pull off the upset in one of its final two games to earn magic win No. 6. For the Sooners to become bowl eligible? Win a game nobody sees coming.
That could happen in two weeks in the home finale. OU is taking on Alabama, announced for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff (November 23) on ABC.
It will be Alabama’s first trip to Norman since 2002, a thrilling 37-27 victory for the Sooners. Alabama is coming off a dominant road victory against LSU.
OU, meanwhile, is trying to pick up the pieces after a stunning 30-23 defeat at Missouri. Alabama has Mercer this week for its #ItJustMeansMore non-conference game in November.
OU, maybe thankfully, is on a bye and has another week of trying to figure out where it goes from here. Whether Jackson Arnold is the answer at quarterback and all that other stuff.

OU is 5-5 overall and 1-5 in the SEC. It’s either beat the Crimson Tide or go to LSU and win. Only way OU can go bowling.
Head coach Brent Venables
“Heartbreaking loss. Feel so bad for our players. They have done everything we have asked them to do. Fought their butts off to put us in position to win the game tonight. Really thankful for Deion and Jalil, both, just for the fight they had, determination they had to come back and give us an Opportunity to help us win.
“We certainly had our moments and had a great opportunity there at the end. we’re up with two minutes to go and Missouri did a great job of executing. I think we fell down on the deep sideline route to Burden there late. In the second half, our guys fought with everything they had. Wasn’t good enough. We have to do a better job to help them. They converted way too many third downs on defense.
“Obviously, we got outscored 21-7 in turnovers. Nothing impacts the game more than those. Have to do a better job of taking care of the football. Again, just incredibly thankful and proud of our guys. We, as a staff, have to do a better job to help them somehow, some way.”
