OU basketball at No. 14 in AP poll; No. 24 Michigan next

OU basketball was in this exact same position last season. Literally. Undefeated going to Charlotte for the Jumpman Invitational.
Nobody expected that team to be in that position. And nobody thought this year’s group would be 10-0 going to Charlotte, but here we are.
And OU is probably coming off its best performance of the season, an 80-65 beatdown of Bedlam rival Oklahoma State. The 15-point margin not indicative of just how badly OU dominated that game, up 76-49 at one point.
From unranked three weeks ago to No. 21 two weeks ago to now No. 14 in the AP poll released Monday afternoon. The Sooners are also No. 15 in the coaches poll.

“We just have a veteran group of guys. Everybody’s played multiple years of college basketball except for
Jeremiah,” said center Sam Godwin, who had a career night with 20 points and 14 rebounds. “We switch defenses up a lot, we switch ball-screen coverages up a lot, we switch post coverages up a lot. We keep offenses guessing; they never really know what we’re going to do, so it worked out well.”
One of the final undefeated teams remaining in the country, and three of them are in the SEC. As head coach Porter Moser has joked all season, he is the good luck charm to your conference being as strong as possible.
No. 1 Tennessee and No. 7 Florida are both among the final schools still unblemished.
Up next
It is indeed time to return to Charlotte. OU takes on fellow surprising team from this season in Michigan. The Wolverines are 8-2 this season, also ranked at No. 24. Michigan lost a two-point thriller to Arkansas last week and hasn’t played since. This is the rubber match for OU in the Jumpman. It defeated Florida two years ago and lost to North Carolina last season. Tip is set for 8 p.m. Wednesday.
