OU basketball gets on the 2025 board with Alec Blair

Whatever term you’re using for OU head coach Porter Moser doesn’t really matter, but it’s safe to say he has it rolling right now.

Is he cooking? Is he on a heater? Well, whatever it is and however you term it, it’s working for the Sooners. A third commitment in four days.

This time? We’re going to 2025. Top-100 prospect Alec Blair announced his commitment to OU on Tuesday afternoon.

Blair becomes the initial pledge for Moser and OU for the 2025 class. He took an official visit to Norman last October.

Blair is No. 89 overall in the On3 Industry rankings. He is a top-125 prospect across the board and ranked as high as No. 40 by 247 Sports. Blair is 6-foot-6 and 180 pounds.

The interesting part to his recruitment might be his two-sport ability. Blair might have just as good a future, or even better, in baseball.

It could be a reason why his basketball recruitment didn’t take off as much as it probably should have. Sources have told SoonerScoop that as of now? There is no decision for Blair to make. He doesn’t have to pick basketball or baseball. He is committing for a basketball scholarship but could certainly end up being a part of the baseball team.

This has just been a banner few days for Moser and company. It started with OU landing the commitment of Jeremiah Fears on Saturday afternoon.

Fears was a borderline five-star prospect for the 2025 class but will now reclassify to 2024. He will arrive at OU next month.

Then OU added former St. John’s forward Glenn Taylor Jr. on Monday. The Sooners needed one more piece to the 2024-25 puzzle after transfer addition Jeff Nwankwo tore his Achilles earlier this summer. So add a couple for this season and now get the ball rolling for the next. Blair is a quality get to get things starting for the 2025 class.
