OU basketball outclassed at No. 2 Florida, swoon continues

You knew in the initial eight minutes that OU wasn’t about to pull off the monumental upset at Florida. The Sooners were missing way too many easy ones, and it was just a matter of time before the Gators caught fire.
And they did. And OU had zero answers for it. The streak is up to five games as the Gators stomped the Sooners 85-63 on Tuesday night in Gainesville.
OU cannot buy a bucket from 3-point territory. You combine that with the missed layups, and it was a recipe for an early beatdown.
For the third time in four games, OU trailed by at least 20 points at halftime. And the Sooners never got closer than 18 points in the second half.
If you’re looking for a bright spot, we’ll attempt to give two and move on. One, freshman Jeremiah Fears played with the most confidence that he has shown in a long time.

He scored 14 of his 22 points in the first half. Fears added five rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Two, this isn’t hurting the resume. The optics aren’t great, we all know that. But you’re not going to be docked for losing to the No. 2 team in the country on the road. And head coach Porter Moser felt like the fight was there, just not even close to the execution needed.
But boy oh boy, OU has to take care of business in its final three home games. No slipups allowed the rest of the way. Jalon Moore had 11 points and four rebounds.
