OU basketball takes down Arizona, onto Battle 4 Atlantis championship
Who had OU vs. Louisville in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship? The Cardinals and the Sooners have been the two best teams and will get that chance.
OU earned its first ranked win of the season, taking down No. 24 Arizona 82-77 on Thursday afternoon in the Battle 4 Atlantis semifinal in the Bahamas.
OU almost led wire to wire, having the lead for the final 38 minutes. And what OU fans saw Thursday? That’s going to work.
That is the OU recipe for success for head coach Porter Moser. A lot of Jalon Moore, a lot of Jeremiah Fears. Sprinkle in some role players coming up big. That will get the job done.
OU and Louisville will meet 4:30 p.m. Friday on ESPN.
Game No. 6 OU Takeaways
*Everybody wondered how Fears would handle the step up in competition. He was sensational against the Wildcats.
Dominating in every which way, leading OU with 26 points, five rebounds and five assists. And during clutch time? It was Fears who wanted the ball at the free throw line.
He drained one after another, as did OU. The Sooners finished 20 of 21 for the game. After an eight-turnover performance against Providence, Fears only had three against Arizona.

*Bounce back was the term for Moore. A couple of subpar games, but he returned to being the leader OU knows it needs.
Moore was brilliant with 24 points and seven rebounds.
*Your role players? That was Duke Miles and Luke Northweather. Miles drained three 3-pointers on his way to 11 points.
Northweather, for the second straight night, was big off the bench. How about 10 points and seven rebounds that included two connects from downtown? That is going to work and get him off the end of the bench moving forward.
*Solid shooting effort. To go with the 95 percent from the free throw line, the Sooner shot 12-for-29 from 3-point territory (41 percent). Fears (4), Miles (3), Moore (2), Northweather (2) Glenn Taylor the five from OU coming up big.
