Can you be 13-0 and under the radar like OU basketball? Is it really possible? The Sooners completed their non-conference run with a 22-point victory Sunday.

OU hasn’t played a true road game, sure, but it did what it needed to. Porter Moser and company have two Quad 1 victories and two Quad 2 wins. That could change as the season progresses.

Heading into SEC play? OU is one of four undefeated teams in the country. Funny enough, three of them are in the SEC.

It’s No. 1 Tennessee, Florida and OU. The Sooners enter this week ranked No. 10 in the coaches poll. OU is also No. 12 in the AP poll.

“I don’t want to hear a narrative this year that a league can only have a certain amount of teams in,” Moser said. “There should be no narrative. SEC is the best league in the country. Every night is going to be an elite Quad 1 game.”

That narrative might have been a reason why OU was the dreaded First Team Out last season, with people saying no way the Big 12 should have so many teams in.

Moser already stating the case to leave that argument in the past. The SEC has blitzed the rest of the field all season long.

As it stands? Sixteen of OU’s 18 conference games are Quad 1 opportunities. The other two are ‘just’ Quad 2 games.

It will be intense. It will be a ride. And you’ll need to balance everything that is going to come along with it. All the highs and lows.

“I approach every game the same,” guard Duke Miles said. “They might throw a punch, but we’ll throw a punch back.”

A three-headed monster has emerged at OU with Miles, freshman Jeremiah Fears and senior Jalon Moore. When all three are clicking, look out.

OU begins the SEC grind at No. 5 Alabama on Saturday afternoon.

“It feels amazing,” Fears said. “A lot of people didn’t believe we could be 13-0 right now, but we did.”

It is the first 13-0 season for OU since 1987-88.
