OU basketball's starting point for NET rankings? No. 37, No. 21 in AP poll
It was right around this time last season when people started to pay attention to OU basketball. And Porter Moser and the Sooners did it again last week.
OU didn’t win a game in the Battle 4 Atlantis by more than five points, but it did win. Three in a row, culminating in a 69-64 victory against Louisville in the championship.
The Sooners went through Providence (79-77), Arizona (82-77) and Louisville to earn a multi-team crown for the third season in a row.
“This team is starting to evolve,” Moser said. “We’ve had different guys step up. “When your mind is right, your game is right. What’s good to know is that they want to win so bad, there are a bunch of guys stepping up on this team.”
Jalon Moore was named the MVP, while freshman Jeremiah Fears also made the All-Tournament team.

It puts OU at 7-0, and now we know how the NET feels about it. The Sooners are No. 37 in the initial NET rankings released Monday morning. And No. 21 in AP poll.
The SEC has the top two in the NeT with Tennessee and Auburn and five of the top 13 overall. OU is being credited with a Quad 1 victory and a Quad 2 victory.
All of OU’s home victories have been deemed as Quad 4 wins.
OU is moving up all the polls, including On3. Moser’s crew comes in at No. 15 this week after the impressive outing in the Bahamas.

Time for the SEC/ACC Challenge. Georgia Tech is coming to OU 8 p.m. Tuesday night. It’s the Javian McCollum-Jalon Moore jersey swap game. McCollum was at OU last year. Moore began his career at Georgia Tech. The OU crowds haven’t been all that great so far. Not a criticism, just fair to say. We will see if the excitement is back at the LNC after what the Sooners accomplished last week.
