OU football general manager Jim Nagy has made another hire as he builds out Oklahoma’s front office.

Nagy has hired former Senior Bowl scout Charlie Parkinson as OU’s Assistant Director of College Scouting. Parkinson spent the past year working closely with Nagy, evaluating college players to be selected for the 2025 Senior Bowl.

He also spent seven months working as a recruiting and player personnel assistant for the Wake Forest football program. Prior to his time at Wake Forest, he worked as a scouting and talent assistant for The 33rd team for two years. Parkinson graduated from Amherst College in 2023 where he played defensive end and tight end.

At OU, Parkinson will primarily help with roster management, specifically evaluating players on the current roster and players who enter the transfer portal. Parkinson is one of several new hires Nagy has made, joining Taylor Redd (assistant general manager) and Kale Pearson (director of high school scouting).

OU and Nagy are expected to make more additions as the Sooners attempt to build out an NFL-type front office.

“In terms of the structure, and we’re working through org chart stuff,” Nagy said on March 5. “I’m not gonna get into details there, but we’re gonna bring in good people. We want to bring in some people with NFL experience. It’s not just going to be me from the NFL. We’re going to have more of a pro model. It’s going to be important to bring some more people on that. I’ve got some blind spots too, having never worked in college, and I’m aware of that. So bringing in some more people that have experience at the college level and really, really lean on Drew, Jolie (Ale), people that are on the staff already.
