OU might be without its top six receivers again this week.

Oklahoma has had especially bad injury luck at wide receiver this season. The Sooners have been without their top receivers most of the season. It appears they could be without their top six against LSU on Saturday.

Jalil Farooq had a setback with his foot injury against Missouri. And Deion Burks, after returning from a thigh injury, suffered a concussion in Columbia. OU coach Brent Venables addressed Burks’ status on Tuesday. Both were ruled out on Wednesday.

“It’s still up in the air and we’ll see where he’s at,” Venables said. “I think he’s had a history of concussions at Purdue. You keep track of all of that, that history. It’s a very delicate thing, but he’s as tough as they come. I bragged on his toughness in the winter time and how competitive and tough he’s been since he’s been here. So battling back and overcoming — he had a grade two thigh contusion tear confirmed by an MRI. So he was dealing with that and he came back from that.”

Surprisingly, Andrel Anthony was listed as questionable on Wednesday. Anthony hasn’t played since the season opener against Temple. Running back Jovantae Barnes was listed as probable.
