OU officially announces front office hires by Jim Nagy

Jim Nagy has his front office.
The OU football general manager has officially made a handful of hires to help him and coach Brent Venables build and manage Oklahoma’s roster. Nagy was hired as GM in February and has since been working on filling out his staff. On Monday, OU announced the following hires:
- Lake Dawson, Senior Assistant General Manager
- Taylor Redd, Assistant General Manager
- Drew Hill, Director of Scouting
- Kale Pearson, Director of High School Scouting
- Stacey Ford, Director of Player Personnel and Retainment
- Charlie Parkinson, Assistant Director of College Scouting
“This is an exciting time for Oklahoma Football,” Nagy said in a statement. “It has been a deliberate process building the first front office in program history and I couldn’t be happier with how it came together. We have a great blend of diverse backgrounds and complementary skill sets from both the NFL and collegiate levels and we feel the cumulative evaluation experience will give us a competitive advantage moving forward. Going through an incredibly successful first official visit weekend the past few days has only affirmed we have uniquely positioned ourselves to build elite rosters.
“I want to credit Coach Venables for his support and leadership during this transition time. The buy-in from Brent and his coaches has been tremendous.”
According to the press release, Nagy and his staff combine for 60 years of college football experience and 67 years of NFL experience. For more information on each of the front office hires, you can read the full press release here.

“The addition of Jim in that front office has allowed me not to have to worry as much,” Venables said at SEC Spring Meetings in Destin. “You’re still involved a little bit. But the resource allocation, the talent retention, the talent acquisition, the talent evaluation. Between putting together a staff and then dealing with both the ‘26 class and moving forward, it has been a lot of fun developing trust in the relationships.
“If you want to have something healthy that’s built the right way, it’s all of us together, linking arms, checking egos, having very clearly defined processes in place. Then, having the professionalism that it takes, too, to work together and do things the right way. That’s been a lot of fun, to be able to help that transition.”
