OU-OSU lives on, Bedlam basketball set for Dec. 14 in Oklahoma City
We’ve slowly been learning about the OU basketball schedule this week. The full slate for the Southeastern Conference was released.
Then we learned the Sooners are going to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis over Thanksgiving weekend.
Thursday morning came the news of OU playing Michigan to finish the round robin of the Jumpman Invitational in Charlotte.
But what about Bedlam? What about Oklahoma State?
There ya go. Sources confirm the annual showdown between the Sooners and Cowboys is finalized for Dec. 14 in Oklahoma City.
CBS’ Jon Rothstein was the first to report.
Head coach Porter Moser has been all in favor of keeping the rivalry going. And new OSU head coach Steve Lutz didn’t back down from it, either.
It took a while for everybody to be content with the contract details, but we’re here.
“I think why not? It’s meant a lot to the state and it’s been a rivalry,” said Moser last season when asked about keeping Bedlam going. “There will be a lot of things semantic-wise to get done. But why not for the future? I just — I think it’s something I’m not against… It’s just figuring it out. Figuring it out, I think that’s going to be the biggest key is that. But it’s been a meaningful thing for the state in all sports so I don’t know why not?”

OU swept the Bedlam series last season, including a memorable 84-82 overtime win in Stillwater on a three-point buzzer-beater by Javian McCollum.
Moser is 3-4 against OSU in his three seasons.
OU is 1-1 in the Jumpman Invitational. The Sooners defeated Florida two seasons ago and suffered their first loss of the season to North Carolina last December.
Taylor is in
OU also announced the official signing of Glenn Taylor Jr. on Thursday. Taylor is coming to OU after years at St. John’s and Oregon State.
“Glenn gives us a big, athletic and experienced wing,” said Moser in a press release. “He started 59 games at the high major level and is a proven scorer, averaging 11-plus points per game as a sophomore at Oregon State. Glenn is dynamic in the open court and is a veteran defender with length and physicality.”
