OU schedules Utah State for 2027 season
OU has added Utah State to its schedule in 2027, sources confirmed to SoonerScoop.com. Football Scoop was the first to report the news on Monday.
Oklahoma will face the Aggies on Sept. 4, 2027, in Norman. According to Football Scoop’s report, OU is paying Utah State $1.5 million. The two schools have met five times previously, with Oklahoma winning all five contests. The Sooners most recently played the Aggies in 2010, winning the game 31-24.

“Our philosophy is not changing,” OU athletics director Joe Castiglione said at SEC Spring Meetings in May. “We made some adjustments. Worked through the eight-game conference schedule versus the nine, temporarily. We’ve built our schedules off a nine-conference schedule in the Big 12. And until we make an eight or nine determination in the SEC we’ll hold out our move to scheduling more games. But we have marquee games on our schedule going forward.”
With the expectation that the SEC will go to a nine-game conference schedule, this would mean the Sooners’ 2027 non-conference schedule is set. Currently, OU has its non-conference opponents set through the 2028 season.
