The 2024 OU football season can’t get here soon enough.

The Sooners are headed to the SEC next year and the dates for some of their biggest home games were leaked on Monday. According to ESPN, OU will start its SEC journey at home on Sept. 21 against Tennessee. And the Sooners are set to face Alabama at home on Nov. 23. The time of those games is to be determined. As for the rest of the conference schedule, it’s expected to be released in mid-December.

Here are some of the other key SEC games that ESPN leaked.

There are several things that can be gleaned from this release. The first is that OU will open the 2024 season with four straight home games. The Sooners last did that in 2021.

The second is that OU-Texas in Dallas is likely going to be Oct. 5 based on other games scheduled. And the third, is that OU will likely play Maine — its fourth non-conference opponent — sometime in November, possibly the week before Alabama. That is the normal procedure in the SEC.

As for where OU will play its first SEC road game, that is to be determined. The Sooners are set to have trips to Oxford, Baton Rouge, Columbia and Auburn. It’s assumed that first road test will come the week after the Tennessee game.
