Oklahoma’s Ella Parker (5) runs to home base after hitting a home run against Texas, Sunday, April 7, 2024, at McCombs Field in Austin.

This isn’t a copy-and-paste job for OU softball, but it sure feels like it. It’s Gabbie Garcia and Nelly McEnroe-Marinas at the plate. Then Sam Landry in the circle. Combine it, and it’s an easy victory.

It worked again. The ‘magic formula’ or ‘secret recipe’ for head coach Patty Gasso traveled to Missouri as OU took out the host Tigers 8-0 in five innings Friday night for another run-rule win.

Garcia got it started with a three-run home run in the top of the first. The freshman continues to tear it up, now a 14-game hitting streak.

Mizzou kept OU at bay for the next few frames. But then the Sooners put up a five-spot in the fifth and let Sam Landry do the rest.

It was a two-run shot by McEnroe-Marinas. And welcome back to the home run parade, Ella Parker.

The sophomore, who hadn’t been as effective, at least by her standards, cemented this one with a three-run shot of her own.

That was more than enough for Landry. The senior star needed just 74 pitches to mow down the Tigers in the five innings.

She allowed just one hit and one walk with four strikeouts.
