The No. 13 OU women’s basketball lost their second consecutive game on Sunday. The Sooners lost 95-86 to No. 12 Kentucky at home, giving up a career-high 43 points to UK’s Georgia Amoore.

Oklahoma also lost to No. 7 LSU on Thursday, making the Sooners 16-6 and 4-5 (SEC) on the season. On Sunday, OU fell behind quickly, trailing Kentucky by 11 at the end of the first quarter and by nine at halftime. The Sooners cut Kentucky’s lead to one in the third quarter, but the Wildcats responded with a 16-0 run. OU got close again in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to five with seven minutes remaining. But Amoore, who shot 68.1% from the field, responded with back-to-back 3-pointers to put the Sooners away.

Amoore was outstanding for Kentucky, making seven 3-pointers on 12 attempts. Oklahoma had no answer for Amoore on defense. And the Sooners didn’t have one for center Clara Strack, either. Strack scored 19 points, including three 3-pointers.

For OU, Shara Williams led the way. She scored a career-high 27 points, going 9-for-9 from the free-throw line. Raegan Beers had 16 points and 10 rebounds. And freshman guard Zya Vann had one of her best performances, totaling 17 points in 24 minutes.

The Sooners struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 22% from 3, going 6-of-27. Kentucky shot 41% from 3, going 14-of-34.

OU will look to respond on Thursday, Feb. 6, at Ole Miss. The Sooners and Rebels will tip off at 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network+.
