Pair of Quarterbacks Headed to Norman?

Oklahoma’s summer camp kicks off in earnest Thursday and we’ve talked about a number of offensive linemen and their defensive counterparts. But the story that may end up being the talk of this summer’s camp will be the situation at 2026 quarterback. Though some of that conversation was covered earlier today, there’s more to it than that.

Why is that? Well at the moment the Scoop staff has predictions in for two different quarterbacks in the 2026 class to be part of Oklahoma’s class. Now the reality is both won’t ultimately end up in Norman but both will be in Norman in the next few weeks. Interestingly, there are several other key targets who could be there as well.

On Thursday Oklahoma could be hosting not just one but two current 2026 offers – Dereon Coleman and Jonas Williams. Coleman is on his way to Norman and will be on campus from Wednesday until Friday. He will be camping on Thursday. That workout figures to be pivotal to see where he fits in Oklahoma’s plans. Should he light it up the way he’ll plan to do, he’s got a chance to be the Sooners guy in 2026 with several, myself included, already having made predictions for him to Oklahoma.
He’s a highly talented athlete that has caught the attention of many already. From there, he has talked about a summer time decision and, again, this camp could play a large role in how that all plays out.
Previously it was expected that Jonas Williams of Frankfort Heights, Ill. would be on campus on Thursday. As of yet we’ve not been able to confirm that is still the plan. That said, he has been a late riser on the Sooners board after picking up an offer in mid-April. Williams shows off a lot of arm talent and could put on a show in the camp setting. If he does he could be another that Oklahoma really pushes for through the course of the summer.
