Fasusi on Sooners 2025 OL: We're Going to be Tough
Oklahoma’s four-man 2025 offensive line class always needed to be one of the high-points of Bill Bedenbaugh‘s recruiting efforts. And after Wednesday’s decision from five-star Michael Fasusi the Sooners have delivered on that need. SoonerScoop.com had a chance to speak with several players familiar with Fasusi who weighed in on what he could mean.
A player who has long been open about his recruitment and work on Fasusi is long-time Sooners pledge Owen Hollenbeck of Melissa, Texas. The mountainous offensive linemen has camped with Fasusi multiple times and wasn’t shy about his excitement about playing next to him going forward.
“He’s a great player and when it comes to him on the field his mind is very sharp knowing how he must execute plays ether in one-on-ones or in a real game. [He] would be a great player to add to any offense,” Hollenbeck said.
The two figure to cross paths more than a few times in the coming months and it’ll be interesting to hear each offer some thoughts on one another.
Sooners Talented Tackles Well Aware of Each Other
The Sooners offensive tackle pairing of Ryan Fodje and Fasusi are Oklahoma’s two lone top 100 prospects in the On3 Industry rankings. And the duo are quite aware of one another. Fodje has been watching things closely from afar with Fasusi and hoping the Sooners were going to land another national top 10 offensive tackle.
“It would be a pretty sweet deal if we were a tackle duo probably the best in the class,” Fodje said of the possibility of he and Fasusi teaming up.
Fasusi laughed after his announcement that he had worked hard to keep Fodje in the dark on his decision but had heard the messages from his future teammate.

“Ryan didn’t know. I talked to him the day before and he was like, ‘hey big Mike make me proud’. Everyone was reaching out so it’s all love with that,” Fasusi said following his announcement. “Seeing them reaching out days before. Months before. That’s love man. I want to play with those guys especially the o-line.
“We’re going to be tough.”
OU Commits Familiar with Each Other
At this spring’s Dallas Under Armour camp one of the most notable battles of the day was that between Fasusi and 2027 EDGE Zane Rowe. The duo battled for rep after rep during one-on-ones with both clearly marking the other as a challenge they wanted to take on. Though the two competed hard and got a bit heated that day they’ve acknowledged their friendship since.
Both prospects from north of Dallas have since committed to the Sooners and Rowe offered his thoughts on Oklahoma’s newest pledge from someone who has lined up against him and will again this season.
“He is strong and quick on his feet. I know he used to play soccer so that’s his advantage. [He has] good foot work,” Rowe said.
