Breaking Down Oklahoma's Dominant Tulsa Win
It’s Monday so that means it’s time to take a look at Oklahoma’s past game weekend. This time the Monday Morning Idiot (MMI) is taking stock of a 66-17 win over Tulsa. The Sooners, as the score would indicate, were dominant and ran over the Golden Hurricane. Oklahoma has shown an ability to put away lesser opponents – having covered all three games so far this year. However, there is still plenty to work on for Oklahoma.
One of the areas that is most notable is the offensive run game. Oklahoma’s offensive line, as the MMI highlighted, had plenty of issues. And thought it is still a work in progress according to Sooners offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, depth is improving.
“The unit that we’re facing this week is going to be the best unit we’ve played up to this point,” Lebby said on Monday to the Sooners media. “We’ve got to continue to play guys like Cayden and like Jacob so we’re able to play multiple guys at the front spot. I think we ended up playing 10 last week.
“The run game, we need more production from that standpoint. And we also need to create some explosives at times in the run game, so we’ll look forward to that being a part of who we are as we’re moving forward as well.”

On the defensive side of the ball some mental miscues allowed a pair of scores but Oklahoma’s defensive coordinator Ted Roof knows the truth wins out. And with that in mind he knows his players just need to see the tape.
“But they understand we have to get a lot better real quick. All you have to do is show them the tape. The tape doesn’t lie. The tape tells the truth. Our guys have seen that and are excited about improving and getting better because we know we’re going to have to,” Roof said.
Take a look as we break it all down in today’s Monday Morning Idiot.
