Sooners Looking at JUCO Lineman?

Oklahoma already holds 21 commitments in the class of 2025 including four offensive lineman but there has, as of late, been some smoke that the Sooners could be looking at bolstering those numbers. And the player that has seemed to grab a bit of attention over the last week or so is Vancleave (Miss.) Jones college offensive lineman Alan Grimme.

Grimme, who already holds offers from USF, Houston, and UTSA, says that high school recruiting didn’t go to plan. And as such, he had to find somewhere to put together some more tape.

“Just not a whole lot of exposure coming out of high school so I decided to go to Jones,” Grimme explained.

From there, he has picked up plenty of attention as a two-year starter for the Bobcats.

And the Sooners have reached out early on, so far though it’s been fairly preliminary.

“(Oklahoma) really just asked me about my self and let me know that OU is interested in me,” he explained.

We’re not quite sure where this leads but it’s definitely a story worth following.

Sperry Has Unique Plans for First RRR Experience

It will be notable, to some, that Denton (Texas) Guyer quarterback, and long-time Sooners commitment Kevin Sperry won’t be in the Cotton Bowl this weekend. But according to the senior signal-caller he made a decision a few years ago to make his first time at the game one in uniform.

“I didn’t go when I first committed a couple years ago when OU had tickets,” Sperry said. “I decided then I want to experience the Cotton Bowl and take it all in when I’m suited up and playing. Can’t wait!”
