SEC Commit Sets Sooners Visit
There have been few more crystal clear purposes in the work of Brent Venables and the Sooners staff since his arrival than to upgrade defensive talent. And with that in mind it’s not surprising he’d go after SEC-area talent. That’s embodied by Wednesday’s news that Oklahoma will be playing host to Tennessee four-star cornerback commitment Kaleb Beasley in the next 10 days.
Beasley was an early offer for cornerbacks coach Jay Valai picking up his Oklahoma offer all the way back on Feb. 4, 2022. From there the Sooners worked and tried to get him to campus but Beasley committed to the home-state Volunteers on Oct. 21, 2022.
Since then there had been little talk or movement that the Sooners were really making a move with Beasley. However on Wednesday the news broke that he’d be visiting Oklahoma on June 9 to add to an already loaded roster of visitors over the next few weeks.
