Sooners Camp Takes Big Step Up
The first few days of Oklahoma’s camps saw a number of new names emerge and a host of new offers go out. However, the last few sessions promise to have more well known names for Sooners fans to lock onto.
Session four, on Tuesday, shows a lot of in-state talent as well as four current offers who are hitting Norman.
Sooners Offers Ready to Camp
Oklahoma has seen a number of new offers roll out but to potentially host 2024 EDGE Jayshawn Ross along with 2025 offers Gracen Harris, Marcus James, and Alex Shieldnight.
Ross will be in Norman for quite some time, including hitting the Sooners ChampUBBQ this weekend.
It will be the Scoop staff’s first look at the talented EDGE that seems to be leaning toward Miguel Chavis and co.
James and Shieldnight are two we had a chance to see just a few weeks ago in late May. James figures to work exclusively at linebacker while Shieldnight may work at both tight end and defensive end during the day.
Finally is Oklahoma commitment, Harris. He’ll get a chance to work out with classmate, and fellow commit, Kevin Sperry while in Norman.
Some New Names who Could Land an Offer
*Speaking of a pair of interesting in-state prospects, how about 2024 athlete Andy Bass of Oklahoma City Heritage Hall and 2026 Vian star Masyn Wright.

Bass is a freakish athlete that has picked up a lot of recruiting steam as of late. He’s at just under 200-pounds and has clocked recent 40-yard dash times under 4.5-seconds.
Meanwhile Wright is the latest Wolverines star from his family and shows off real physicality in his game on both sides of the ball.
*At defensive back two 2025 prospects to watch is Mesquite (Texas) Horn’s CJ Wells and Plano’s Rohon Kazadi. Both already hold numerous offers and Kazadi in particular feels like a player who could pick up an offer with a strong performance.
*Speaking of players who have been picking up offers on camp performances Cypress (Texas) Bridgeland 2025 offensive tackle Jonte Newman has picked up Texas A&M and TCU following big work at their respective camps. He’ll be in Norman on Tuesday and an offer seems very likely to follow him back to North of Houston.
