Check off the box for the OU defense, at least for this week. The Sooners were up to the task time and time again in the 20-6 victory at Cincinnati over the weekend.

“That’s how you build a team. There’s a lot of different ways to build a team,” head coach Brent Venables said. “I’m proud of our guys’ effort. Both sides of the ball continue to fight and compete. We had four drives where we scored and one of the field goal drives was a 12-play, 72-yard drive and there were a couple of plays that we would like to get back – we can’t, but what do we have to do to fix that? – but we have a nine-play, 67-yard drive where we had to settle for a field goal.

“We’ll work on the efficiency and the execution. There’s plenty of mistakes and a lot to fix. I love to win and I got to fix a lot of stuff.”
