Well, OU is going bowling, but that won’t slow down what is about to an insane month of news for OU football.

And, oh yea, it’s still crossover season with basketball. The Sooners shook up the college football world by dominating Alabama to earn magic win No. 6. For the 26th consecutive season, OU is going to have a postseason.

But there is soooo much going on with OU. Let’s break it all down with the latest edition of the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop.

And Happy Thanksgiving!

OC search continues

Efficiency is the word du jour this week. The search for the OU offensive coordinator continues, and head coach Brent Venables said it’s about finding an efficient offense.

He failed in the 2024 search, admitted that. Now it’s about fixing it. The candidates are still the same, and it’s about letting the process play out.

Will OU be able to lock a coordinator in before signing day? Remember, that’s now just less than a week away.

Portal chaos

Who will be the first OU player to hit the transfer portal? After OU is done at LSU (because there is still a game this weekend), all eyes will go to the portal.

Is quarterback Jackson Arnold someone to watch? What positions do the Sooners need to hit more than any other? Again, get ready for the chaos. The window officially opens Dec. 9, but names will be declaring well before then.

Fasusi staying?

Turn our attention to recruiting, and five-star offensive tackle commit Michael Fasusi. Fresh off his trip to Texas, should OU still feel confident?

OU making a push for Baylor linebacker commitment Kaleb Burns. The Sooners hoping for a recruiting jolt after what they did vs. Bama.

Feast Week means hoops

And it’s time to get people acquainted with men’s and women’s hoops. What has happened in the first couple of weeks. And how big the next few weeks will be to determine expectations before they hit the SEC for the initial time.

All that and all the banter you’ve come to expect from the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop.
