SoonerScoop podcast: OU football just around the corner
You want to know a way to realize OU is not in the Big 12 anymore? Big 12 media days in Las Vegas this week, and strangely enough, nothing to do.
The Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop tackles that issue and a whole lot more this week. But hey, we’re less than a week away from talking season for OU, too. SEC Media Days will be Monday-Thursday next week, with OU hitting the stage Tuesday.
The Sooners are bringing a very familiar trio to Dallas in quarterback Jackson Arnold, linebacker Danny Stutsman and safety Billy Bowman.
But before that? Some recruiting talk.
Fasusi or bust?
OU continues to check a lot of boxes for the 2025 class. At least at the skill positions. Brent Venables and company still need help in the trenches.
And, of course, that is the most important spot to hit. OU took another blow last weekend with Lamont Rogers picking Missouri.
What that means? The asking price just went up for Michael Fasusi. That’s a joke, maybe, but no doubt Fasusi just became that much bigger of a deal for OU and Texas.

It didn’t feel like it was possible for OU to strikeout with 2025 offensive tackles in this region. But the Sooners need some help to land the big one now.
Beryl barreled down, but a-OK
Recruiting editor Josh McCuistion and family survived Hurricane Beryl. It left its mark in Houston and was definitely a rough few days.
But McCuistion is back and ready to address the important issues, like offensive tackle recruiting.
The gang also talks about the return of Jeremiah Criddell to the program, rejoining OU as a graduate assistant.
And tick tock, tick tock, we’re getting closer. Now just 50 days away from the season opener. All that and a whole lot more in this week’s edition of the Unofficial 40 from SoonerScoop.
