OU is coming off an impressive defensive performance, and it’s time to see if the Sooners can do it again. All that and a whole lot more in focus in the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop.

The SoonerScoop gang (Josh McCuistion, Carey Murdock, Bob Przybylo, Eddie Radosevich, George Stoia) explore the Sooners battle with Iowa State coming up Saturday night in Norman.

OU and ISU have played three thrillers in a row at Owen Field. This, though, feels like a game where OU can get some separation on the scoreboard.

It’s another game where if Brent Venables has this going in the upward trajectory, the Sooners should be able to take care of business.

Still finding questions for OU

*A lot of things are going well, but there are questions with the Sooners. Most notably, it’s at running back where nobody can make heads or tails about what’s going on? Why the rotation is what it is? And what could it potentially mean the rest of the way?

*Was last Saturday just an off day, or ‘weird’ as it was described for quarterback Dillon Gabriel? Or with ISU and Texas defenses coming up, how much are we going to learn about the OU offense?

*Not as much of a question, but a special shoutout to safety Key Lawrence and his ability to be able to put it all together in his third year in Norman.

OU ‘powers’ up?

*OK, lame pun aside, McCuistion breaks it all down about where OU stands with former Michigan State safety commit, Reggie Powers. The Sooners offered Powers last week. Powers decommitted from the Spartans on Tuesday. Pieces all coming together?

*More from McCuistion about the OU commits he has seen in the last week, and just how good is 2025 offensive tackle Michael Fasusi?

All that and the banter you’ve come to expect from the Scoop crew as the Sooners attempt to move to 5-0 this weekend.
