SoonerScoop podcast: Riding the OU recruiting roller coaster

Never a dull moment with SoonerScoop and this is a podcast you’ll want to listen to. The whole gang is back for another edition of the Unofficial 40.
Josh McCuistion, Carey Murdock, Bob Przybylo, Eddie Radosevich and George Stoia rotate in and out to recap a busy week for Oklahoma on the recruiting trail and what’s going on in Sooners preseason camp.
Lindsey Street is great again
No, we’re not saying Radosevich single-handedly is bringing tailgating back to Lindsey Street. But we’re not, um, not saying it.
SoonerScoop jumped in early about the necessity of OU to open up Lindsey Street once again for football tailgating.
Well, it’s happened. You’re allowed to rejoice.
No. 1 off the board, now what?
The story of the week isn’t a positive one for OU. On3’s No. 1 overall recruit, defensive end Williams Nwaneri, picked Missouri on Monday. A big enough blow on its own, Nwaneri revealed the Tigers beat out Georgia for his commitment.
McCuistion breaks it all down. What it means for OU? Where the Sooners go from here? And why, yes, the sky is still not falling.

And Murdock chimes in with his thoughts on covering the recruiting game in 2023, especially this one.
OKPreps roll continues
It’s not all bad, though. Przybylo and Radosevich were there LIVE last weekend for 2025 Oklahoma City Millwood receiver Jaden Nickens and his OU commitment.
The Sooners continue to knock it out of the park with the 2025 in-state class. And it might just add another in due time. McCuistion talks about the decommitment from Notre Dame by Washington High tight end Nate Roberts and why OU is sitting pretty there now.
Back to camp
Stoia and Przybylo give thoughts and observations as OU is essentially halfway through preseason camp. How are things looking for Brent Venables and company? Can Austin Stogner be the savior of the tight end group? How good can someone like Peyton Bowen be this early?
All that and a whole lot more from the crew in this edition of the Unofficial 40.
