Getting closer and closer to OU-Texas and the Red River Rivalry. As the week goes on, you start to understand even more what a challenge it will be for head coach Brent Venables and Team 130.

It’s rare for OU to be an underdog, but to be at least a 14-point underdog? That sounds almost unheard of. But that’s where we are with the No. 1-ranked Longhorns looking like one of college football’s elite in 2024.

The Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop returns to talk all things Red River Rivalry. Namely? What can OU do to shock the college football world Saturday afternoon?

Has OU found the answers?

Venables has been quick to say the team got back on track with the miraculous victory at Auburn less than two weeks ago.

Is that more of Venables hoping that’s the case? Or did OU find something in that final quarter that it can use in Dallas?

Questions galore. Michael Hawkins Jr. the first true freshman to start for OU in this game ever. Not 20, 50 years, ever. Try to wrap your head around that.

The Texas offense is legit. The defense is among the best. Quarterback Quinn Ewers is expected to return, and we’re not sure if OU is getting any pieces back.

It won’t be 49-0 from two years ago, but OU is gonna need some help to put down the Horns in the Cotton Bowl.

Red River Recruiting

OU is technically the home team for this year’s edition. Recruiting editor Josh McCuistion is here to give a glimpse at the names coming to Dallas.

The overlap between OU and Texas recruiting always makes for an interesting Saturday.
