Might be a tough one for OU fans to watch again, but there were some moments. And for those that like to critique, there was definitely a lot to rewatch and break down.

OU was far from dominant in the 16-12 win against visiting Houston. It wasn’t an ecstatic celebration, but 2-0 is, obviously, better than 1-1.

A lot to fix for head coach Brent Venables and company. Gotta get Jackson Arnold and the rest of the offense back on track.

It’s time for SoonerScoop’s Sights & Sounds from video editor Eddie Radosevich.

BV opening statement:

“Like I said, fortunate to win and thankful for victory, thankful again for our players and our staff to figure it out on a night where a lot didn’t go great. I thought we were off on defense just enough to allow them to stay on schedule. We talked about how the opponent wants the game to go early in the week, and I bet it was pretty much close to script, if you asked Houston, other than that they’d want to win. But keeping it close, but it was hot, we touched the stove, got burnt and let them hang around. Again, they had great fight, so you got to give it to them. They made layups when they were there, and at times when we had layups, we didn’t make them.

“Like I said, we in many fronts deserved to lose, but I don’t want to take away from the fight and our guys figuring out a way to win. I think the plus side of the (turnover) margin is big. Robert Spears(-Jennings) had a great interception and a really nice play; that’s eight straight games—I think 24 of our last 28 games we’ve forced an interception since the start of the 2022 season. So, we came up big tonight.”
