Another look at OU practice as the Sooners reach Day 3 of spring ball. Second week means it’s also time to bust out the pads.

Head coach Brent Venables and crew ready to start the hitting and seeing where everybody stands. You’re also starting to see the leadership separate itself.

It has to. Every coach will say the best team is player-led. It can’t be the coaches, has to be the players saying they’re going to step up.

Watch and listen to it all. It’s time for SoonerScoop’s Sights & Sounds with video editor Eddie Radosevich. You might notice some familiar names back in Norman this week. OU pro day is set for Tuesday morning.

C Troy Everett

“Offseason’s been awesome. Offseason’s going to be, you have Schmitty; it’s going to be what it is, but it’s been awesome getting to know all the new guys, getting to know all the new faces in the facility. It’s been awesome. I’ve had a blast.”

DE R Mason Thomas

“I wanted to focus on my run game, so with that I needed to add weight, power, lean muscles. So I got with the nutrition and strength staff to get me right. Plus nine pounds. I went from like 240 to 249.”

S Robert Spears-Jennings

“I just put deposits in the bank every day, man. I’m trying to get better with my eyes, try to be more vocal. Just how I was usually all my life, you can ask my parents, I just wasn’t a vocal kid, I wouldn’t express myself. I just try to lead by example. But now, I’m trying to lead by example and be vocal with it. So try to take young guys on my wing and get them ready to go.”
