Down the stretch of OU spring practice. The Sooners have reached the final week, culminating with the spring game Saturday afternoon.
Before that, though, a look back at the latest practice for OU as head coach Brent Venables continues to mold Team 130.
“Offense is going great, for real. It’s kind of like starting all over, obviously we’ve got a new quarterback,” wide receiver Jayden Gibson said. “So just trying to get down that connection with him every day is really the main goal, just continuing just to support him and uplift him and I’ve been trying to teach him how to be a leader in life, how to show him how to be a leader and take a look at my own leadership skills and improve those. But that’s really mainly what this spring is about.

“There are a lot of guys who we already knew that can play … It’s just now about putting all those puzzle pieces together. It’s gonna be a new lineup, gonna be new and a new two deep so I feel like it’s going really well. Especially as spring has progressed, it’s definitely been an obvious improvement from the first day of practice to now so just looking to continue that and show that in the spring game and just take it day by day.
“We’re not trying to go too fast, we know the equation to be great and the equation to have success. We saw it last year, what we had to do in the offseason. So now we’re just trying to amplify that and just continuing to follow the direction of our leaders, of our coaches. As long as we listen to what they tell us to do, and just continue to take their coaching, I know that everything will turn out great.”
