Nobody blames you if you’ve been consumed by OU football to not know what the basketball team is all about so far.

What you’ve missed, though, is a team that is playing really well.

The Sooners are 6-0 under third-year head coach Porter Moser. It is the best start for OU since 2015-16, the same year OU went to the Final Four. OU is No. 25 in the AP poll, the first time under Moser that the Sooners have been ranked.

And SoonerScoop is going to help you play a little catch-up and get to know the team. Time for Bob Przybylo and Eddie Radosevich to hit the Scoop studios and break it all down.

Best win

Easy one here. The 72-70 victory vs. USC last Friday was huge to show people what OU can do on a national stage. Otega Oweh hit the game-winning tip-in with under 2 seconds left to give the Sooners the victory. It punctuated a two-day statement for Oklahoma that included beating Iowa as well as the Trojans in San Diego.

Biggest surprise

We’ll go with the depth. The length and athleticism has been huge for the Sooners. But what stands out is Moser and his belief of the team having eight starters. Guys who have been among the first five at their previous schools have seamlessly fit in coming off the bench. John Hugley, Rivaldo Soares and Le’Tre Darthard have done a great job of playing their role and coming up big.

Player to watch

Gotta go Javian McCollum. The point guard transfer from Siena has been able to be the same type of player at OU that he was before. He has speed for days. McCollum working with Milos Uzan has been fun for OU fans to watch, two legitimate playmakers. He hasn’t been afraid of the moment. And his confidence seems to be growing with each game.
