Tight end Jake Roberts transferring to OU

The third time is the charm for tight end Jake Roberts and OU. At least, that’s certainly what both sides are hoping.
Roberts, formerly of North Texas and Baylor, announced his commitment to Oklahoma on Monday night. He is the second tight end portal pledge for the Sooners.
This one felt like a countdown. Once Roberts announced he was leaving the Bears, all eyes turned toward OU. Not just because he went to high school at Norman North. But with Seth Littrell taking over as offensive coordinator, it’s the perfect match.
Roberts, of course, began his career under Littrell and the Mean Green. Now he can finish it with the crimson and cream under Littrell.
Wherever Roberts has gone, he has been pretty productive. He had 23 catches for 231 yards and a touchdown last season. At UNT, Roberts had 43 receptions for 541 yards and three scores.
Roberts joins Bauer Sharp as the two tight ends to become Sooners via the portal.
Here are the 11 portal additions for OU:
- OT Spencer Brown (Michigan State)
- CB Dez Malone (San Diego State)
- WR Deion Burks (Purdue)
- RB Samuel Franklin (Tennessee-Martin)
- TE Bauer Sharp (Southeastern Louisiana)
- OG Febichi Nwaiwu (North Texas)
- CB Jocelyn Malaska (Utah)
- K Tyler Keltner (Florida State)
- DE Caiden Woullard (Miami (Ohio))
- OG/T Michael Tarquin (USC)
- TE Jake Roberts (Baylor)
