Troy Everett had been waiting six months to help the OU offense.  Everett, in his second year with the Sooners, suffered a knee injury during spring practice and didn’t play in Oklahoma’s first five games. He was expected to be the team’s starting center this season, after starting in the Alamo Bowl. However, due to Everett's injury, OU had to turn to SMU transfer Branson Hickman.
