Ole Miss saw four of its players from last year’s roster get selected in the 2023 NFL Draft a couple weeks ago and two of them have put pen to paper on their first NFL contracts.

Offensive lineman Nick Broeker and defensive end Tavius Robinson have agreed to terms with their respective teams and signed their rookie contracts as rookie camps are underway.

Broeker was the latest to sign his, agreeing with the Buffalo Bills who drafted him in the seventh round of last month’s draft as the 230th overall pick. The Bills announced Broeker’s signing, along with four other draft picks, on Thursday.

The terms of Broeker’s deal were not disclosed in the announcement. Now that he is officially signed by the Bills Broeker can focus on his play on the field, it is expected he will be competing with former Denver Broncos and New York Jets player Conner McGovern and former Los Angeles Ram player David Edwards at the left guard position.

Robinson signed his rookie deal with the Baltimore Ravens last Saturday along with former Clemson linebacker Trenton Simpson. Robinson is one of five of the Ravens six draft picks to have signed a rookie deal, leaving receiver and first round draft pick Tay Flowers as the only one left for Baltimore to sign.

At Ole Miss Robinson played on the defensive line but throughout the draft process he was occasionally listed as an outside linebacker, something the Ravens will take a look at during camp.

Similar to Broeker’s deal no financial terms were disclosed in the Ravens announcement of Robinson’s signing.

“He looks good. High energy, high energy,” Head Coach John Harbaugh said of Robinson last weekend. “I think his skillset is going to really express itself with the pads on. But he’s a tall, rangy guy with heavy hands and a lot of energy.”

Two more Ole Miss players have yet to sign their rookie deals with their respective new NFL teams.

Wide receiver Jonathan Mingo and running back Zach Evans have agreed to rookie deals in the weeks since getting drafted.

Mingo was a second round pick by the Carolina Panthers as the 39th overall selection. Agreements and announcing of signings by players selected in the first couple rounds usually takes a little longer to develop. The Panthers have not started rookie camp, either, which is when a deal will get finalized more than likely.

As for Evans was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the sixth round as the 215th overall selection. The Rams have yet to announce signings of any of their draft picks.

Six other former Ole Miss players signed as undrafted free agents. Of the six Mason Brooks‘ deal with the Washington Commanders is the only one that has been made public. Brooks received a $35,000 signing bonus, which is one of the larger guarantees for UDFA’s.
