All-time Ole Miss great AJ Brown, one of NFL’s best, goes over 1,000 again
AJ Brown’s Philadelphia Eagles suffered their first loss since September on Sunday.
But the former Ole Miss All-American wide receiver still went over 1,000 yards receiving for the fifth time in his six NFL seasons.
Brown was a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist at Ole Miss, where he had the most-ever 100-yard receiving games by a Rebel (12). He finished third in career receptions (189) and fifth in receiving touchdowns (19).
He’s the only Ole Miss receiver on record with 60 or more receptions in back-to-back seasons.
“(Ole Miss) is home,” Brown exclusively told the Ole Miss Spirit while in town for the ‘Grove Bowl Games’ to launch his foundation. “This will forever be home, and I’m proud to say this is my home.”
Brown had eight receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Washington Commanders.
He’s gone over 1,000 yards three seasons in a row. Brown is a three-time Pro Bowler and former second-round draft selection of the Tennessee Titans in 2019.
He’s in his third season with the Eagles after being traded. Philadelphia handed over first and third-round picks to Tennessee for Brown and immediately signed him to a four-year, $100 million-dollar deal.
Brown broke a 38-year Eagles record for single-season receiving yards in his debut season. He did so again a year later. He also created a new single-season-best mark for receptions.

Brown became the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history in April.
He signed a new, three-year, $96 million-dollar extension with the Eagles. Brown’s now locked in through 2029 on his third contract. He’s one of two former Rebels, along with offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, sitting as the highest-paid at their respective NFL positions.

Brown’s total guarantees of $84 million are also the highest ever.
Brown this season is up to 64 catches for 1,043 yards and six touchdowns. He missed three games due to injury. The Eagles are 12-3 on the year and fighting for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Ole Miss landed Brown — then a four-star recruit — out of the back yard of its in-state rival, Mississippi State. He went on to become the Rebels’ all-time leading receiver (2,984). He caught 88 passes for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2022 — the year the Eagles reached the Super Bowl.
He had 155 yards on 10 receptions in a week-one win over the Detroit Lions to set a new Eagles record, which he broke a year later.
“(Ole Miss) means everything, man,” Brown said at Super Bowl Media Day. “I bleed red and blue. (Ole Miss) is always home. I’m trying to finish the job. I know my Ole Miss family is proud of me.
“That place will forever have a big place in my heart. I’d like to say thank you to Ole Miss and the people that helped me get here when I was there.”
