AJ Brown joins rare Ole Miss company with second Super Bowl appearance
All-time Ole Miss great AJ Brown will soon become just the seventh Rebel in history to appear in two Super Bowls.
Brown on Sunday had six receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown in a 55-23 win for his Philadelphia Eagles over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game.
The Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, February 9. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m. CT on FOX.
“It means a lot,” Brown said to reporters afterwards. “When I first got here, and I reflect back to that moment (Brown, QB Jalen Hurts and WR DeVonta Smith) linked up and worked out and we were running hills in the rain at five in the morning, that told me everything about these guys.
“We’re just trying to get it done. Two Super Bowl appearances in three years is a blessing from God. I’m grateful. Just trying to finish. Guys don’t just get to the Super Bowl. We’re very blessed. Just trying to make the most of it.”

The Chiefs are making their fifth Super Bowl appearance in six years and aiming to become the first three-peat champion in the Super Bowl era. They defeated the San Francisco 49ers last year.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes now has 17 postseason wins to break a tie with Joe Montana for the second-most wins by a quarterback in playoff history. Tony Brady, who will be the lead color analyst for the Super Bowl, has the most (35).

Brown this season caught 67 passes for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns.
He landed All-Pro honors for the third consecutive year.
Brown went over 1,000 receiving yards for the fifth time in six NFL seasons. He was a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist at Ole Miss. Brown had the most-ever 100-yard receiving games by a Rebel (12). Brown finished third in career receptions (189) and fifth in receiving touchdowns (19).
He’s the only Ole Miss receiver on record with 60 or more receptions in back-to-back seasons.
“(Ole Miss) is home,” Brown exclusively told the Ole Miss Spirit while in town for the ‘Grove Bowl Games’ last spring to launch his foundation. “This will forever be home, and I’m proud to say this is my home.”
