Alabama RB Ja'Michael Jones commits to Ole Miss

Ole Miss scored a big recruiting win on Sunday as 2026 Montgomery (Ala.) Pike Road running back Ja’Michael Jones committed to the Rebels, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Jones picked the Rebels over Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and others. He’s fresh off an unofficial visit to Oxford this weekend to see Lane Kiffin.
That wasn’t his first visit to Ole Miss though as he’s visited numerous times over the course of his recruitment. He was in town for Juice Fest last year as well as the Rebels beating of Georgia.
Running backs coach Kevin Smith beat out a loaded group of competition for Jones, who is high on what Ole Miss can do for him.

“They make football a business that seems very fun to be in,” Jones told Ole Miss Spirit last summer. “My relationship with them is very good. Kevin Smith was the first coach to give me an offer. Ever since then, we have been very close.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, he’s the No. 554 overall prospect, No. 35 running back and No. 23 prospect in Alabama.
He’s the third commitment of the 2026 cycle for Ole Miss as Jones joins wide receivers Jameson Powell and Zion Legree.
