Alabama transfer running back Justice Haynes, the top-ranked back in the portal, is visiting Ole Miss on Tuesday. The Rebels are making a big push for the former blue-chip prospect out of Buford, Ga.

Haynes is expected to make it Columbia on Thursday to visit with South Carolina then Michigan afterward. Ohio State is also in the mix, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

In his two seasons with the Crimson Tide, Haynes rushed for 616 yards and nine touchdowns. During his high school recruitment, the 5-foot-11, 210-pound running back picked Alabama over Ohio State and Georgia.

The On3 Industry Transfer Portal Rankings tabs Haynes as the No. 1 running back and No. 19 prospect overall.

The Rebels landed former Top 100 prospect and Missouri running back transfer Kewan Lacy Monday evening after he entered the portal earlier on Monday.

Justice Haynes scouting report

This is the On3 scouting report from high school for Haynes, who compares to NFL running back Miles Sanders.

“Well-rounded, highly productive running back with few holes in his game. Arguably the best runner on contact in the 2023 cycle. Has a filled, muscled frame at around 5-foot-10, 200 pounds. Very developed in the lower body. One of the more productive rushers in the 2023 cycle. Rushed for 7,407 yards and 91 touchdowns over his high school career. Turned in a very efficient senior season, rushing for 1,528 yards and 19 touchdowns at 12.6 yards per carry.

“Has a strong base. Runs with high-level contact balance, regularly running through arm tackles and bouncing off defenders at the second level. Shows good vision as a runner, making decisive reads and cuts at the line of scrimmage. Burst and top-end speed (electronically-timed 4.66 second 40-yard dash as a sophomore) are above average but not elite. Catches the ball well out of the backfield as a receiver. A rock solid running back prospect with a high floor. Has a NFL pedigree with his father playing in the league after a career as a running back at Georgia.”
