Another college football Saturday has come and gone and only two more remain in the regular season for No. 9 Ole Miss.

The reward for beating Georgia nine days ago was getting Week 12 off with the Rebels second bye week coming at a fortuitous time. They rested and healed up for the final two games at Florida and then the Egg Bowl in Oxford six days later.

While getting the weekend off Ole Miss (8-2, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) benefited from a couple Top 10 suffering losses — or an upset if you were undefeated No. 6 BYU — and slid back into the Top 10.

But did the Rebels improve their College Football Playoffs standing by default? Tuesday’s third batch of CFP Top 25 rankings will reveal that but the latest bowl projections is very CFP-heavy for them.

Or if you’re Jerry Palm of CBS Sports, still putting them in the Citrus Bowl. Palm put Tennessee in the spot that most other outlets have Ole Miss despite the Volunteers 14-point loss to Georgia on Saturday.

The popular matchup for the the Rebels in this week’s projections is the No. 8 seed vs. the No. 9 seed. In four of them they are the 9 seed and traveling to either Alabama or Indiana. The other two also has them traveling to Indiana for the first round but in the No. 10 seed vs. No. 7 seed slot.

Athlon, Sporting News and College Football News have the Rebels advancing to the quarterfinals and playing in either the Rose Bowl or Sugar Bowl against Oregon, Ohio State or Texas.

Plenty more can still change and shift around through these final two games and then conference championship Saturday on December 7 before the final CFP selections are made on December 8.
