The regular season is over for No. 14 Ole Miss and now it awaits to see what its postseason fate might be.

An answer that will be revealed on Sunday when the College Football Playoff field is announced followed by the subsequent bowl games.

The Rebels are sitting in the clubhouse at 9-3 but their chances of sliding in the backdoor of the CFP took a hit with the lack of chaos this past Saturday. Not enough upsets, or the right ones, occurred and seems they are heading for that ‘First Four Out’ group, though time will tell.

For now the projections are for a bowl game not included in the CFP and the destinations range from a return trip to Florida or heading to Las Vegas or Nashville.

With nine wins it feels hard to fathom Ole Miss would trickle far enough down to end up in the Music City Bowl, but it is still on the board of possibilities.

A trip to Orlando and the Citrus Bowl was heavily considered by CBS Sports Jerry Palm all season, but with Alabama also currently on the CFP bubble that slot could be filled by the Tide.

In that instance the Rebels could be going back to Tampa to play in the ReliaQuest Bowl — formerly known as the Outback Bowl — or even up to Jacksonville to play in the Gator Bowl.

Florida or Las Vegas really feels like the two options at this point if it not a first round game in the CFP. The latest CFP Top 25 rankings will be revealed on Tuesday.
