Bracket Watch: Ole Miss continues its move up the NCAA Tournament seeding ladder
Before the weekend slate of conference games across the country there was another NCAA Tournament projections update, bringing good news for the Ole Miss men’s basketball team.
Earlier this week No. 23 Ole Miss defeated Arkansas for its first road win in Southeastern Conference play of the season and keeping a perfect record through the first two games.
That victory also helped the Rebels (13-2, 2-0 SEC) improve its NCAA Tournament stock. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi released his updated ‘Bracketology’ on Friday and Ole Miss received a bump.
After placing the Rebels as a 7 Seed in Tuesday’s update Lunardi moved them up to a 6 Seed in the West Region (San Francisco) in his latest update.
Ole Miss is projected in the Providence, Rhode Island quadrant for the first and second round and paired with 11 Seed UC San Diego. The winner of that game would play the winner of 3 Seed Oregon and 14 Seed High Point.
The SEC continues to lead the country with 12 projected teams in the Field of 68 and a 13th sitting on the bubble. Missouri and Texas switched places in Friday’s update with the Tigers taking the 11 Seed and one of the First Four games and the Longhorns the first of the First Four Out.

Ole Miss continues to bolster its NCAA Tournament résumé. Tuesday’s win in Fayetteville helped moved them up to No. 23 in the latest NET rankings. The Rebels have a Quad 1 record of 4-2, besting last year’s Quad 1 win total of three already.
Saturday brings another Quad 1 opportunity with Ole Miss hosting LSU at 5 p.m. CT. The Tigers (11-4, 0-2) are currently 67 in the NET, moving up four spots in Friday’s update.
